About Mike McDonald

Mike McDonald has spent a lifetime in public service, as an honorably discharged veteran, Westfield Town Council President, Plan Commissioner, and President of Fletcher Place Ministries. Mike McDonald and his wife, Kathy have lived in Hamilton County since 1984. Married 29 years ago, the McDonalds have two sons, Luke and Jacob.

Traditional

Mike McDonald has been very involved in community activities for over 30 years. Teaching Sunday school, coaching Little League baseball and serving as President of the Westfield Town Council are just a few of his activities over the years. He has an agricultural operation in Hagerstown, IN. Mike McDonald received a BS Degree from Southern Illinois University in 1988, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Mike McDonald is a Sr. Security Analyst with Eli Lilly and Company, where he has worked for 21 years.

  • He currently serves as the Clay Township Regional Waste District Board Secretary.
  • Mike McDonald was first elected to the Westfield Town Council in 1992 and was re-elected in both 1996 and 2000.

    His council accomplishments include:
    • Initiating and successfully delivering parks and trail projects.
    • Leading a comprehensive planning effort that focused on enhancing quality of life, while promoting economic development
    • During this period of rapid growth, the tax rate was consistently lowered.
    • Economic development initiative
    • Initiation of the Water Task Force, which resolved water quality issues
    • Developed and initiated the Town / School partnership for Technology programs.
    • Primary responsibility for initiating the certification programs aimed at helping students in entering the workforce as a skilled and certified employee.
